The
best
trader
award
goes to…
By Yinon
Arieli | October 29, 2007
Last
week was
one of
the most
exiting
weeks in
Yalicoo
(while I
would
not like
to sound
like a
broken
record,
the
competitions
are
indeed
becoming
more
interesting
as time
passes
and more
players
join the
events).
Without
a doubt,
octavio
is one
of the
nominees
for the
best
trader
of this
month.
octavio
managed
to
outshine
all
other
players
and took
the lead
in both
the
quarterly
and the
monthly
competitions.
octavio
is
demonstrating
that it
is
possible
to gain
high
returns
by
holding
to the
right
stocks
at the
right
time,
even
with
large
cap
companies.
Therefore,
in
octavio’s
portfolio
one may
find
companies
such as
Microsoft
Corporation
(MSFT),
Yahoo!
Inc. (YHOO),
Apple
Inc. (AAPL)
and
other
Goliaths
in their
field.
The
monthly
competition
is
scheduled
to end
in 3
days.
Although
octavio
is
currently
ranked
first
(11.3%),
he is
closely
trailed
by
ixchiquixi
(10.5%),
Trader420
(9.3%)
and
kman1420
(9.1%)
all of
whom
have
still
got a
few days
to close
the gap
and take
the
lead,
making
this a
most
exciting
competition
to watch
and
participate
in.
The
quarterly
competition
has more
than two
months
to go
As I
have
already
mentioned,
octavio
also
leads
the
quarterly
competition.
However,
the
spread
between octavio’s
yield to
that of
QueenPortfolio,
who is
ranked
seventh,
is not
more
than
3.5%. It
might be
too
large of
a gap to
close in
few
days,
but the
quarterly
competition
has
still
got more
than two
whole
months
to go.
The
bottom
line is
that
everything
is still
open and
I will
not be
surprised
to see a
new
leader
next
week.
After
all,
Yalicoo’s
leaders
are
proving
to be
observant,
astute
investors
who
manage
to beat
the
Indexes
in every
competition.
You
don’t
have to
know
foreign
languages
to be
winner…
If you
speak
German,
you
probably
know the
meaning
of the
word ‘schpitz’,
which is
also the
name of
the
winner
of the
last
weekly
competition.
The word
“schpitz”
means- a
pointy
leading
sharp
edge and
also- a
leading
expert
in a
field.
Since shpitz
succeeded
to beat
the Dow
by more
than 3%
last
week,
schpitz
certainly
deserves
this
title.
In
Yalicoo,
though,
one does
not have
to speak
foreign
languages
in order
to
succeed.
As a
matter
of fact,
in order
to
succeed
in
Yalicoo
and in
the
stock
market
you
should
follow
the
steps
taken by
our
leaders,
study
them and
adopt
those
which
fit your
own
style.
This is
the
uniqueness
of
Yalicoo.
You can
follow
all the
trades
made by
all
players
almost
in
real
time.
This can
help you
improve
your own
trading
and
investing
skills
in
Yalicoo
and
later on
in the
real
stock
market.
You can
get new
investing
ideas
and
build a
winning
strategy
for
your
portfolio.
In other
words,
watching
the
leaders
can
assist
you
become
the
‘schpitz’
of next
week.
